Hey everyone,
So today I performed a scene from the Martin McDonagh (In Bruges, Seven Psychopaths) play The Beauty Queen of Leenane. I was cast as the lead Maureen for a production in IADT (Dun Laoighre Institute of Art, Design and Technology).
The performance was quite an intimate one, with the audience just a few steps away from our performing space.
But I really enjoyed it and I hope to work again with IADT in the future. I was lucky enough to perform for Rebecca Roper, who has acted as the Irish Casting Director for Batman: Dark Knight, Alexander and Breakfast On Pluto.
So it was really great to hear her feedback. Brilliant day all and all and the more time I'm spending performing whether on set or on stage, I'm falling more and more in love with it. If I could live on a set or live on stage, I would!
Enrolling in the Gaiety School this year has definitely re-ignited my love for acting. It has been my passion from such a young age, and after all the intense acting courses, the years of stage school, it's finally paying off and I'm getting to perform and improve my skills everyday.
I have a few auditions coming up in the next few weeks. And should have a link to the short movie I shot last month 'Denial' in the coming weeks.
Ali
