Update!

Hey everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted on this in a wile. It's been a hectic few weeks. This weekend I'm really excited about filming the first short film I have written.

I am also directing and starring in the short, which is called Stuck. It's going to be a full two day shoot, and it's with a small team so it should be interesting.

I have cast Emmett Hughes (co-writer and star of The O'Briens) as the character of Glen and I will be playing Cassie.

I'm so happy I am finally making a film, it's something I've always wanted to do, and this is the first of many.

I've already written another short and I am in the process of pitching a TV series. So there's lots going on.

What I've Been Up To

Hey everyone,

I have been enjoying my five week break from the Gaiety School of Acting but although I haven't been having class I've been doing lots of things to keep me going.

On Sunday I shot a short film called Ciara's Conflict, where I play the character of Julie. It was a beautiful day out in Maynooth but pretty cold but I loved every minute.

It's a really great story, and hopefully I'll be able to post it up here soon. Two film shorts I starred in - Don't Speak and Don't Let Your Guard Down are nearly finished in editing so I should have that soon.

I also shot a short film in Belfast last month. It's called On The Wall and although I only play a tiny part, I was delighted to be involved.

Still doing lots of auditions and a few exciting things ahead!

Currently Working On....

Hi everyone,

I just finished the second term of the One Year Part Time Course in Dublin's Gaiety School of Acting.

I was swamped with preparing for our showcase in the school in recent weeks, so I haven't been posting much.

In the last few weeks I have finished filming on the upcoming short movie Let Your Guard Down, it was a really great script and great production, so I'm really excited to see the finished cut.

On set of Let Your Guard Down

Before that I wrapped shooting of another movie short called Don't Speak. That will be premiering in the next month or so, so that's exciting.

I have another short coming up called Ciara's Conflict, which I should be filming in early April. I have also just been cast in an independent feature film, but can't give away too many details on that.

Also filming of the TV Pilot Darker Days is coming up soon, everyone is really excited about that one.

So I've a lot going on and on top of that I've a good few auditions in the next two weeks, so fingers crossed I'll have some more news.

Gaiety School Of Acting - Weekly Blog

Hey everyone,

So sorry I haven't been blogging about the course in  week or so, but it's a good sign, it's because we've all been working so intensely on our scenes.

Term two has kick of the One Year Part Time Acting Course in the Gaiety School Of Acting in Temple Bar has exceeded my expectations.

It has been so intense since day one. We knew there was going to be a slight shift this term but we have really upped it a knotch.

As well as doing our two classes a week we are spending a lot of time working with our scene partners outside school hours.

It's great coming in to class an hour early and seeing all my class mates working at their scenes, everyone is so dedicated.

Our showcase is in two weeks, and we are all feeling the pressure. I definitely feel like I'm being pushed more this term, which is great because I want to keep on improving.

It can be frustrating some times but once you get it right it feels so good. Me and my scene partner are doing a really gritty scene from The Clink by Stephen Jeffrey's, it is difficult but each time we rehearse we discover something new about our characters.

Right now the entire class are pushing themselves really hard to make this showcase the best yet. So I'm excited to see the scenes again this week.

In the meantime, our tutor Antoiette Duffy is directing a piece of theatre for the Collaborations Festival this week in Smock Alley Theatre.

It's definitely worth taking a look. You can read more about it here: Salt On Our Skin.
I'm really excited for my next class, and I'm looking forward to our showcase. I will be updating a blog on my experience at the Gaiety School Of Acting every week on Miss Red.
